Gapminder’s free services are funded in three ways: 1) targeted grants for specific projects, 2) donations, and 3) incomes from commercial activities such as consultant services and lectures. The proportions differ from year to year. We have intentionally diversified our income in order to strengthen our economic independence. No single source of income is allowed to exceed 60% of the total annual income. Donations are governed by our donation policy.
