In the news people in other cultures seem stranger than they are, but Dollar Street helps us see how people in different parts of the world really live. You will see that we all have the same needs. Our main differences are what we are able to afford.
Dollar Street was created by Gapminder’s co-founder Anna Rosling-Rönnlund after she became frustrated that data and charts couldn’t explain how life is for people on different income levels.
We have sent photographers to hundreds of homes in dozens of countries to document how people on different income levels live.
Our vision is to have representative families from every country living on Dollar Street. For this to happen, we need more homes and help from our community!
