    Dear Hans,

I just witnessed your show and was duly impressed. The way you catch an audience is in the same way based on fact as on skilful demagogie (which sometimes is necessary to connect).

I myself is busy trying to build a network between Asian (starting with Thailand and Malaysia)and Nordic businessmen and -women. This work started about 18 months ago and the true form is not there yet, but there is slowly starting to build a connection. The basis for this effort is (though without statistical fundamentals) the same prediction that you do about from where the future economic strength is coming from. On the other hand, there is also a great curiosity and admiration from this side of the world about what the western world has acheived so far. That is why I see the interest from both sides for this network thinking. Since I happen to be involved with golf couses, I find that golf is a common language that is useful for creating the friendship I think is necessary to a future cooperation with our two worlds. Not only playing together but also meeting and doing other things in connection with golf events is the recepie, as I see it.

If it is possible I would like to have the opportunity to adress you for some coming event when we gather our Asian and Nordic friends.

    Best regsrds

The statistics are interesting, however the historical and social analysis is a naive interpretation of historical record. Making this a somewhat unbalanced discussion. I felt uncomfortable with the content it verges on an unusual pro east anti west mild xenophobia, statistics should be more objective, not partizan. The theater obscures some interesting points on the geographic disparities in these two macro territories, india and china.

If the human development is following the statistical prediction, the world would look quite differently. But nevertheless, China will make it through the devaluation of the US$…

An Indian living in US, I am sure that developed world especially US will make sure that China and India suffer as much as possible with global warming. That’s the reason US will never sign any treaty to reduce GHG, even though Chinese pollution is also mainly to serve the American masters.

He seems very inspirational and educated and I wish he was our educational leader for the USA public school systems (being that he knows how far behind we have fell)…..

Paul Ehrlich’s book, The Population Bomb, was totally discredited by Julian Lincoln Simon in his book, The Ultimate Resource (1981). Dr. Rasling proposes a non-factual based world view that less children equals a higher quality of life.

A finest presentation on past, present and future. Other than inequalties, war and climate change what are the road blocks you will see in your prediction.I wish i am alive when 27,july,2048 happen. Thanks a lot.

As a show, interesting. As a statiscal thuth….not real. It is impossible to superpopulated countries to reach that goals. food and materials are finite. As well, demand to all that production are not avaiable to nor east or west.

Brilliant and inspiring presentation with the right portion of humor and doubt about the expert predictions in statistics!

It’s always important how knowledge is presented so that students are able to keep it in mind. I will remind these facts and think about it. Thank you very much!
