The family lives in Myanmar. K is 40 years old and is a fisherman. His wife M is 39 years old and they live with their 4 children. The family lives in a 1-bedroom house, which they own, and have been living here for 3 years. They like their house because of its good environment, zero rent, and low cost of living compared to the city. Its only disadvantage is that it’s too far from the city. The next thing the family plans on buying is food supplies. Their dream is to buy a piece of land.

The family lives in Myanmar. K is 40 years old and is a fisherman. His wife M. is 39 years old and she is a housewife. They live with their 4 children. The 2 eldest children; son W, 16 years old, and daughter H, 18 years old, are unemployed. While, the younger 2 children; son Y, 6 years old, and daughter N, 11 years old, are students. K works for a total of 60 hours/week. The family lives in a single-room house, which they built with help from friends and relatives. They own the house and have been living here for the past 3 years. They like their house because of its good environment, zero rent, and low cost of living compared to the city. Its only disadvantage is that it’s too far from the city. The house has no electricity or toilet facility. The family has to buy 70% of their food, which costs them about 90% of their income, and produces the rest 30% themselves. Water is available outside the house and is safe to drink. They use charcoal fuel for cooking in the kitchen. M spends 28 hours a week collecting water and another 35 hours a week doing housework. The family hardly saves any money and the next big thing they plan to buy is more food. They hope that one day they will be able to fulfill their dream of buying some land.
