The 6 grandchildren range in between 3 to 12 years of age, with all but the youngest attending school. Her daughter N and sister M sells cassava, and her son-in-law P works as a mechanic. The family owns its house and other land and property. The house has 3 bedrooms, and the family has lived here for 70 years. There is no electricity, no toilet, and no drinking water in the house. They use charcoal and wood as fuel for cooking food. The family produces 90% of its own food, and spends less than 30% of their income to purchase the rest. The drinking water is safe to drink, and it takes about five minutes to collect and costs up to 10% of their income. They have never been on vacation and the family’s dream is to purchase another house.
