The fence is still broken from when the thieves entered. The household receives money from the World Food programme through the Bamba Chakula programme every month. However, A says this is not enough and often has to take food on credit. A is unemployed, but her brother in law lives in the household and works as a security guard, which brings in additional income. A’s children attend school, but school fees can be a challenge. When they are not at school they help A with chores. She misses her hometown in South Sudan, and would like to go back to see the cowshed and boat. This family lives in a refugee camp, with very little money, but with access to aid in the form of food from the World Food Programme and several assets on their house, such as the solar panels and the cooking pots, are provided by the UNHCR.
