The family lives in Nepal. S is 50 years old and works as a labourer. His wife M is 45 years old and she is a farmer and a housewife. They are parents to 5 children and live with them in a 2-bedroom house. The family owns the house and have been living here for 3 years. Their next big plan is to buy food supplies and their dream is to be able to afford school for their children.

The family lives in Nepal. S is 50 years old and works as a labourer. His wife M is 45 years old and she is a farmer and a housewife. They live with their sons H, 20 years old, and K, 19 years old, and their daughter D, 16 years old, who are all unemployed, and their other daughters J, 12 years old, and N, 9 years old, who are students. Together, the family works for a total of 120 hours/week. The family lives in a 2-bedroom house, which they own and got built with help of friends and relatives. They've been living there for the past 3 years. The house has electricity and a toilet outside on their plot. The family has to buy 98% of their food, while they produce the remaining 2% themselves. Food supplies cost them about 90% of their income. They have access to safe drinking water on their plot, which costs them up to 10% of their income. They use wood for cooking in the kitchen. Every week M and D spend one hour collecting water, 20 hours collecting wood and 20 hours doing housework. The family hardly saves any money because most of it is spent on food. The next thing they plan to buy is more food supplies. They hope that one day they will be able to fulfill their dream of sending their kids to school.
