They normally boil the water before drinking, or buy bottled water gallons. They chose to live here because at the time of purchase, the land was cheap in this area. However, the house is now a bit old and needs to be restored. They also own another house and some agricultural lands which they lease out to collect rents. The family has to buy all their food supplies, which cost them only less than 30% of their income. They use liquefied petroleum gas for cooking. For drinking water, they use boiled water. The family saves money and sometimes goes on vacation. The furthest place they have ever been was Srinagar, India. The next big thing they plan on buying is a big car. They hope that someday they will be able to demolish their house and rebuild it.
