The family lives in Nigeria. J is 40 years old and is a farmer. His wife N is 25 years old and she is also a farmer. They are parents to 7 children and live with them in a rented 2-bedroom house. Their favorite item in the house is their clothes. The next thing they plan on buying is a mattress and their dream is to buy a house made of block walls.

The family lives in Nigeria. J is 40 years old and is a farmer. His wife N is 25 years old and she is a farmer. They live with their 4 daughters U, 14 years old,E, 12 years old, C, 6 years old, and H, 3 years old, and their 3 sons F, 13 years old, R, 8 years old, and P, 8 months old. The family lives in a rented 2-bedroom house. They’ve been living there for the past 20 years. The house has no electricity, running water or toilet. The family has to buy 50% of their food supplies and produce the remaining 50% themselves. They use wood for cooking in the kitchen. The children spend 3 ½ hours a week collecting water, which takes 10 minutes to collect and come back. They also spend 11 hours a week collecting wood. The family hardly saves any money because most of it is spent on food. They’ve never been on vacation and the furthest they have ever been was Onitsha, Nigeria. The next thing they plan to buy is a mattress. They hope that one day they will be able to fulfill their dream of buying a block house.
