The family lives in Haiti. F is 50 years old and is a tailor. She lives with her 14-year-old son in a tent in a refugee camp made for those displaced by the earthquake in 2010. Their tent was provided by the Red Cross and is free of rent, but its drawback is that it becomes very hot in summers. The family’s favorite item is their sewing machine. F's next plan is to spend money on her son's education and their dream is to be able to build a school someday.

The family lives in Haiti. F is 50 years old and lives with her son who is 14 years old. F works as a tailor for 30 hours per week. The family started living in a tent in a refugee camp, set up by the International Red Cross, ever since they were displaced by the earthquake in 2010. Their tent is free of rent but it becomes very hot during the summers. They share the toilet with around six other families. The family purchases all their food and use a charcoal stove for cooking. They collect unclean water from a source 20 minutes away and spend 7 hours every week for it. The family spends nearly 90% of their income on food and water. F treasures her sewing machine and is trying to save money for her son’s education. She dreams of one day building a school.
