"Google translate" translation: (added by Gapminder)

Can you translate it into Castilian?

The Spanish or Castilian is an Iberian Romance language group. It is one of the six official UN languages [19] and, after Mandarin Chinese, is the world's most spoken language by number of speakers that have as their first language. [20] [21] It is also an official language several major political and economic international organizations (EU, [22] AU, [23] OAS [24] OEI, [25] NAFTA [26] UNASUR, [27] Caribbean [28] and the Antarctic Treaty, [ 29] among others). Speak it as their first language and second between 450 [30] and 500 [31] million, may be the second most spoken language that is spoken by considering the first and second language. [32] On the other hand, Spanish is the second most studied language in the world [33] after the English, with at least 17.8 million students, [34] while other sources indicate that they exceed the 46 million students [35] distributed in 90 countries.

Dear Mike and Rosita,
currently, there are two tutorials available (video + pdf) in English that you can access from the menu in Gapminder World www.gapminder.org/world . These tutorials are explaining the functions of Gapminder World, rather than giving a tutorial on how to teach with it. However, the pdf tutorial can be very useful to print and keep next to you while you explore the moving graphs. You can of course also view the videos as a kind of tutorial, both on how to use Gapminder materials and on the subject matter.

We plan to add more material to help teachers use Gapminder. Stay tuned.

For those who would like basic information about the course but do not understand Swedish, I’ve written a quick translation:

The target audience is high school and community college teachers.

The goal of the course is for participants to gain the knowledge and practical computer know-how needed to teach about world health, the environment, development, and other questions, with help of animated statistics and other material from Gapminder.

The course will be held on 15 and 16 June at Karolinska Institutet in Solna, a suburb just North of Stockholm. The price per student is 2800 SEK, plus 25% sales tax. Including tax, it’s approximately 432 USD per student.

Dear Francisco,

it is a very interesting suggestion to have a course via Internet. We might consider this for the future. On the website, we are planning to improve our resources for teachers and tips and instructions for how to use Gapminder for teaching.

And, as I live in Mexico, is it possible to have the course via Internet?

Teachers from other countries are also most welcome to participate in the course, if they can understand the Swedish language.
