Can I contribute to Gapminders work?
Gapminder appreciate collaborating with people all over the field (At organisations and universities as well as in companies) all over the world. Please send us an e-mail telling what you are doing/would like to do and we can see if there are any matching tasks.

Why is Gapminder doing this? Is there any political agenda behind this?
Gapminder work serves a purpose of filling a gap. There has been a market failure in distributing global data. A lot of people are interested in the data, but don’t get access to it (and if they manage to access the data, they need to be advanced skilled statisticians to analyze it). Gapminder wants to make data more accessible and easier to use for instant visual analysis. We believe decision makers, politicians as well as education at almost all levels lack adequate tools.

There is no political agenda behind the work. The idea is that all people, independently of their political agenda, should get free access to already existing statistics about global development to easily improve their understanding about the complex society.

Where do I download the Flash Player?
To download the Flash player, go to the Adobe Flash Player Download Center.

Who is funding the work of Gapminder?
Most of the development of Trendalyzer software by Gapminder Foundation was funded by grants from Sida (www.sida.se) during 2005 and 2006. The acquisition of Trendalyzer by Google now enables Gapminder Foundation to independently pursue the basic activities with its own resources. But the Foundation also makes externally funded assignments with collaborating partners.

Is there a tutorial for Gapminder World?
Yes, there are video-tutorials in the "help pages" available in the upper left corner of Gapminder World. It is recommended to open the video tutorial in one window and have the "real" Gapminder World open in another window at the same time. Then you can see each step in one window and repeat the same actions immediately in the real tool in the other window.
